Isaiah 43:16 “I am the Lord who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.” Do you remember the things God has done? Do you really remember? The God who made a way for 36 people from our region to attend 3rd Wave in South Africa, the God who has given protection to Cintu, Acy, and others in East Timor, the God who began the revival in Korea one hundred years ago this year, the God who has taken the lives of a young person trapped in sin and given them new life in Jesus Christ! Do you remember the things God has done?

Isaiah 43:18 “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. for I am about to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness for my people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert! The wild animals in the fields will thank me the jackals and ostriches, too, for giving them water in the wilderness. Yes, I will make springs in the desert, so that my chosen people can be refreshed. I have made Israel for myself, and they will someday honor me before the whole world.” God has shown us in the past that he is able to do more than we can ask or imagine, and here he is saying that he will do new things. He did not just provide for us in the past, but he is doing something NOW for our good! He wants us to be a part of it. “See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness…” All across our region He is working. In April the Philippines is having their first nation-wide youth congress in years. Pray for them because God has great plans for this time! In May the New Zealand NYI has a mission team coming who will partner with youth there and minister. Pray for them because God has great plans! In June representatives from every Nazarene educational institution will join at Korea Nazarene University for leadership training, relationship building, and service projects. In July the Indonesia District is having their summer camp. In 2009, instead of traveling to the United States for General Assembly, our region will have the NYI convention at one place on our region. We will have training together, get to meet each other, pray together, worship together, vote together, and listen to God’s plans together! God is at work all around us! Do you see it?
