“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done.” - Psalm 105:1

Time has really been flying by… and as I sit and write this I am reminded of all the amazing things God has been doing! Even in the everyday’ness’ of our lives God is working!! It has been my prayer lately that He will lead me in intentional conversations with those I meet daily. I thank Him for deepening these relationships and helping me build new relationships also. From the lady who has the little cart on the side of the street where I sit on plastic chairs to eat my dinner each night, to the coffee shop owner, from the postman, to the Principal of the school- these are all people God has placed in my life for a reason! They are a blessing to me and I pray I can be to them!

I thank you for your prayers for our high school “Christian” group that meets on Wednesday lunch times. A great side effect of this has been a new Christian friend made!! Through meeting some of the other Christian kids in the school I was able to visit another Children’s Home (set up for Lisu Hilltribe Children) and there met another ‘farang’ (foreigner). I praise God for this new friendship and an answer to prayer as Lauren and I are hoping to start a Bible Study together soon!! The “Christian” group at school has met every Wednesday since it started and is now 1 term old!! We have had some great times- including a concert by Samantha Yangmi with over 100 in attendance, the showing of the movie “The 10 Commandments” - at the recommendation of a Buddhist teacher who enjoyed watching it very much! Please continue to pray for the impact this group of kids is making in their school.

Another volunteer arrived in August to assist at the Children’s Home. Kristin is from Oklahoma and is fitting in really well with the kids.

Water RaftingIn September, I was able to go white water rafting for the first time in my life… WOW!!! It was amazing!!!

The end of September saw a visit from 3 Mabel Park Students accompanied by Serita Faataape. This was another great visit where high school students are able to experience life in another culture. We praise God that these students not only experience another culture but experience God!!

Children's ChoirThe term break is for all of October and these school holidays have been jam packed!! The Lahu people have begun their Thanksgiving celebrations and our children (from the Children’s Home) attend each celebration and perform songs in Lahu, Thai and English! Thank you all for praying for their cultural performance. It was a huge success! Our team performed 40 minutes of top quality entertainment! We should all be so proud of them!

The last two weekends have been spent at youth camps. I and the 2 volunteers had the chance to help out at an outreach camp with the Baptist Church in Bangkok. We taught English. It was a lot of fun and we were able to make a lot of new friends. The second camp was the Nazarene Thai District Youth Camp with approx 120 in attendance. We were able to take 20 kids from the Children’s Home, the majority of which were Hmong (of which most come from non - Christian homes). A fun time was had by all!! I pray that all of these activities are developing our young people to be strong men and women of God!

God has been opening up many doors and one door that has been opened just recently (and is still amazing me at how God is going to make this possible) is for the chance to participate in a Global Youth Conference in South Africa in January 2007. This conference is called Third Wave. This event will focus on developing global awareness and perspective among the emerging young leaders of the church. Through times of worship and discussions highlighting current global issues, the youth and youth leaders will respond to these issues as they explore what it means to be a global Christian through the Church in today’s world. God willing, I will have the awesome privilege of accompanying some Thai young leaders to this event and helping them with translation!!!

Please join me in praising God for these open doors and pray with us for all of the needs that are still to be met!
