NYI Revival Camp 2006 in Thailand by APNYI Admin

Sanuk Maak! (Thai word for fun!). These are the words that the youth expressed in the recent NYI Revival Camp on October 20-22, 2006 held in Chiangmai at the facilities of the Baan Khun Glang Church in the beautiful highest mountain in Thailand, ‘Doi Ithanon.’ Over 120 youth, pastors, and missionaries joined the camp. Twenty hilltribes young people from the Northern Thailand District joined. The camp Bible verse was John 15:4 “Remain united to Me and I will remain united to you.” The tireless work of the NYI President, Miss Suwisa Supanya and staff contributed so much to the success of the camp.

Fun games, songs, fellowship, devotion, prayer time and relationship building were memorable. There were several speakers in 3 workshops: ‘Today’s Youth’ (Bangkok First Church Pastor Tanongsak Phong-udtha), ‘Worship’ (Oikos leader Siripawn Malagun and missionary Lisa Lehman) and ‘Evangelism/Evangecube’ (Bangkok First youth leader Pom Saejung). They watched Thai video on basic knowledge and understanding about HIV and AIDS and NCM Coordinator/missionary Ceny Hirahara shared about latest information and experience from the AIDS Conference in Toronto, Canada.

BaptismRev. Rolf Kleinfeld (SEA Field Strategy Coordinator) preached twice in evening fellowship/worship with the interpreter, Acharn Sanyaa Ratdapongpattana. Thailand District Superintendent, Rev. Sawat Hahom, preached on Sunday morning worship service together with hilltribes church members of Baan Khun Glang church.

Special talents were presented in the last evening.

Four youth were baptized by Oikos Church Pastor Phanom Wongsuriya. The youth look forward to continuous fellowship and another youth camp.
