Philippines - NYC 2007: Day 4 by APNYI Admin

Philippines - NYC 2007Day four of the Pilipinas NYC 2007 started a little late, due to all the fun that was had on Day three. Our day began with another challenging service by Rev. Monte Cyr concerning ‘Mission to share the Gospel.’ In his final message to NYC participants, Rev. Cyr reminded us that when we are part of God’s family, the things that affect others also should have an impact on us. It is our mission to live life as Christ did, even in hard situations, and share His message and love with everyone we meet. Following the morning worship services, participants were again trained and challenged in workshops on Bible Quizzing, Creative Ministries, Small Group Ministries, and Photography.

Disrict NYI Report

After lunch, NYC heard from Shane Faataape (Asia-Pacific Youth in Mission Coordinator) about possibilities for Youth in Mission in the Philippines. The participants then divided into groups by district to discuss what is currently happening in their churches and things they would like to see happen. Each district reported to the entire congress what their goals and plans are for the future.

Praie and Worship Night

After dinner, a covenant service was held with Dr. Angelito Agbuya (Luzon Nazarene Bible College President and Philippine National Advisory Board Chairman). As Dr. Agbuya shared his heart with the youth of Philippines, all were challenged to recommit their lives to Christ to share His story with the world. A communion service ended the worship service, but the evening was far from being completed. Special talent was shared by the youth who were trained in hand mime ministry this week, along with a creative skit and songs by Soulafekz, NYC’s favorite band from Australia. Fireworks and a bonfire were also a highlight of the evening, and those who were reluctant for the fun evening and week to end stayed up late continuing to build relationships with new friends across the country.

The most touching part of Dr Angelito Agbuya’s message was when he said that “You can be a good doctor, a good lawyer, a good architecht or whatever profession you have, but never never take Jesus out of the picture”… Its true young people, we can never reach success without Him..
