East Timor - Ministry Update by APNYI Admin
This week will be the last week for the political parties Campaign. The election day has been set: Saturday, 30th June 2007. We are all anxious to see whether it will be a peaceful election or not. But I believe as we all pray, God will intervene and He will help and He will bless us with a peaceful election. There are lots of predictions and worries but let just trust in God for the best thing for this nation.
Youth Ministry
We are keep working on the preparation for this year youth camp. On Saturday the Youth camp committee held a mini concert to raise fund for this event. And they got $85 through this program. The youth sang and played drama and do some dance. They did a great job. I think we have many talented youth around here. The ticket was $0.50 per person. Thanks God for those who gave their support.
So far we have raised $253.50. We are optimist that we will be able to meet the $2090 by August. We have an almighty God who is able to help and work miracles. In fact some friends said they are going to help us. Thanks God!!
Ladies Ministry
Yesterday we ladies decided to go to the beach for our fellowship (we normally have it at my house). So we asked Aunty Janet to drive us to the beach and we had a great time there. I think there are so many ways to build our relationship and this beach thing was a great way. We got to know each other more by just enjoying the nature and by having chat. God is awesome. He is really working in these women’s life. I can tell it by listening to their testimonies how they depend on God even when they do their normal domestic business. As one of them who work as a domestic helper shared ” I was doing the laundry and I suddenly realize I mixed the colorful clothes with the white ones and it damage the white clothes. I was so scare that my boss will angry at me but then I pray and asked God to help me. And He did help me.” So simple but it was so sweet that they can see God as a person who can always be there even in something small like that.
Others shared their testimony how God meets their needs like school for their kids, provision for their daily needs, etc. I love listening to all those stories. God is so real in our daily life.
I often underestimate God’s ability to help me to meet my needs by worrying too much. But again and again He prove Himself as a faithful God. the more we give the more we receive.
Pro 19:17 Mercy to the needy is a loan to GOD, and GOD pays back those loans in full.
God has so many ways to meet our needs. He is awesome. I want to trust Him totally this week that He will provide all our needs, He is our almighty God, Jehovah Jireh!!
Radio Program
This program is still going. Now we have more young people involve. Praise the Lord!
English Classes
Our youth center always busy with this program. I thank God for this tool. We are expecting to see more soul come to know Jesus personally through this program. We always use any opportunity in the class room to talk about Jesus. And they all like it. Sometimes some of them would share their struggles and we pray for them. One of my students is a Jehovah witness and I’m glad that now I can be her friend. when you are in the class room and knowing that you are in charge it’s always a great opportunity to teach them about who God is because no one will complain, I’m the teacher after all, ha! I really enjoy teaching.
I also thank God for raising more leaders through the programs at the Youth center. Now we have several youth who are volunteering to teach English and computers. Thank God! They all enjoy doing this. A great opportunity for them to develop their teaching skill and leadership skill.
I think that’s all for today. God is at work here. He keeps searching and it’s an honor to be His partner, isn’t it?
Thanks for endless prayers and support. We wanna see Jesus lifted high in East Timor!
